Queen
Victoria succeeds in becoming the icon of a people, by creating a model of
love, which she shares with her husband Albert and her nine children, but also
by her presence during her regular visits to all the cities of the kingdom.
The
monarchy is then transformed, popular, republicanism appears to be
eccentricity.

The
Victorian era is one of the peaks of the history of England because the United
Kingdom is then considered as "the workshop of the world", extending
its trade in a large part of the globe.
But
the "Victorian" also affects all aspects of morals and
mentalities, literature and the arts. The novel then acts on the general public
in the manner of modern television.

Dickens, (Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Great Expectations), Anthony
Trollope (Miss Mackenzie), Elizabeth Gaskell (Mary Barton), William MakepeaceThackeray (Barry Lindon), Charlotte Bronte (Jane Eyre), write on social,
